We have a number of opportunities available across the Work Health and Safety Policy and Workers' Compensation Policy Branches within the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.
The Work Health and Safety Policy Branch drives reform within the Commonwealth jurisdiction as well as engage on national policy that will have a meaningful impact to ensure the safety of workers across Australia by contributing to national work health and safety policy through tripartite forums such as Safe Work Australia.
The Workers' Compensation Policy Branch leads the development and delivery of workers' compensation policy initiatives to support injured workers in the Commonwealth jurisdiction. The Branch also contributes to national best practice policy development in workers' compensation and the management of psychosocial hazards in the workplace.
Responsibilities of the EL1 Assistant Director may include:
Building and sustaining productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to develop considered policy positions.Preparing high quality written materials, including briefings, agenda papers and reports for a range of audiences including the independent panel, Minister, and senior executive.Managing one or more projects using well-developed strategic project planning and organisational skills to deliver results to a high standard and in a timely manner.Supporting, mentoring, and developing team members to build organisational capability.Manage communication, contract and procurement activities.Supervising staff, including supporting, mentoring and developing team members to build organisational capability.Contribute to the strategic direction of the Branch and contribute towards branch and organisational planning.Applications To find out more about the role and to apply for the position, please visit our website.
