This vacancy is for 0.4 EFT.
The applicant is required to instruct on oboe and bassoon in group and individual classes.Piano accompaniment skills would be an advantage but not a requirement.The successful applicant will be able to instruct and demonstrate on all double reed instruments at all levels from beginner to advanced and be versed in a range of music styles.The College requires all instrumental music teachers to demonstrate a high level of competency in teaching instruments in groups.The successful applicant may be required to either direct a small woodwind ensemble and/or assist with one of the concert bands.Instrumental music instructors work with the Managers of Instrumental Music and Woodwind Leader to coordinate the allocation of students to instrumental music classes and oversee the maintenance, repair, purchase, and replacement of relevant equipment.The College has a large and active program of ensembles and performances. Attendance at concerts and rehearsals outside school is expected.ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of an Instrumental Music instructor may include but are not limited to:
Direct instruction of groups of students and individual students.Contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Music curriculum area within the school.Undertaking other related and organizational duties as determined by the School Principal and/or the Managers of Instrumental Music.Participating in such activities as parent meetings, staff meetings, concerts, camps, and excursions.Complying with the timetable and professional ethos of the school.Creating a positive environment conducive to learning for the students of whom he or she is in charge in line with the school's well-being and pastoral care policies.Who May ApplyIndividuals with the aptitude, experience, and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.
