About the Role We are seeking an experienced MetOcean Engineer to join the team here to help deliver world-class assets in a safe, reliable and timely manner.

The MetOcean engineering team at Woodside provides a range of meteorological and oceanic engineering services across all assets, facilities, projects and developments. This includes development of design and operability criteria for onshore, offshore (fixed and floating), pipelines, and subsea infrastructure, as well as our New Energy projects.
Duties & Responsibilities Some of the key roles and responsibilities of the role include:
Responsible for weather and ocean forecasting to support Woodside's onshore and offshore assets Responsible for provision and maintenance of environmental monitoring systems, in conjunction with onshore and offshore facilities MetOcean design criteria for onshore facilities, offshore facilities (fixed, floating systems, response-based) and pipelines and subsea infrastructure using state-of-the-art tools Operability criteria for marine seismic data acquisition, drilling, offshore construction and maintenance operations, shipping and port operations Scopes of work for MetOcean analysis services and field measurement campaigns Responsible for work outsourced to suppliers, including management of deliverables Responsible for the development and maintenance of fit-for-purpose MetOcean MATLAB-based tools and data management systems within the MetOcean discipline Represent Woodside in relevant MetOcean joint industry projects and standards committees Demonstrate HSE commitment and leadership within the MetOcean team and for its contractors Provide specialist guidance to Woodside's operations for tropical cyclone response, oil spill response and adverse weather risk assessment Contribute to the coaching and development of staff in MetOcean requirements and tools Support the coaching and development of civil and structural graduate engineers Develop, demonstrate and deploy new technology to improve the safety and efficiency of onshore and offshore assets and new developments Skills & Experience Candidates must possess an Engineering degree (Masters or PhD preferred though not mandatory) in oceanographic, environmental or coastal engineering.
We are looking for a MetOcean Engineer with considerable experience, gained within an oil and gas environment on large offshore developments, including:
Development of MetOcean criteria for design and operation of fixed and floating facilities, pipelines and subsea infrastructure, and response-based analysis Weather and ocean forecasting Field measurement campaigns Operability criteria for vessel and aviation operations. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a range of experiences across onshore, offshore, pipelines and subsea infrastructure, and will ideally have worked across early concept through to operating stages of asset lifecycle.
Owner/operator experience along with advanced MATLAB skills including coding is highly desirable.
