Management Accounting & Budgeting (Accounting)
The Woodhouse Timber Company is an Australian owned and established business that services the Queensland, New South Wales, ACT, Victorian, South Australian and Western Australian markets with premium building products.
Operating under an exclusive wholesale supply chain model, Woodhouse distributes its product ranges through a recognised network of Building Material and Hardware Merchants; Home Centre Outlets; and Truss and Wall frame manufacturers.
Our range includes Structural and Decorative Remanufactured Plantation Pine products for internal and external building projects and applications.
THE ROLE
The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of accounting duties, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.
This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and experience in group accounts, intercompany accounts, and foreign currencies.
KEY COMPETENCIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations; Produce monthly financial reports, including Profit & Loss statements, balance sheets, variance analysis, and trend analysis; Liaise with budget holders to provide financial insights and support; Prepare and post monthly journals, including payroll journals; Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including BAS, PAYG and superannuation; Manage group accounts and intercompany accounts, including eliminations; Handle foreign currency transactions and reporting; Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts; Support the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors; Continuously improve financial processes and systems.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CA qualification preferred; Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role; Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices; Experience with group accounts and intercompany eliminations; Proficiency in handling foreign currencies; Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; Experience using Netsuite ERP an advantage.
