Talk to us about how this could work for you.Period of AppointmentFixed term, part time commencing ASAP until 7 April 2025.Hours per fortnight36 hours 45 minutes per fortnight - flexible options available.DutiesUndertake professional witness assistance work including: Provision of assessment and case planning in conjunction with assigned prosecutorsSupport of witnesses through case conferences with prosecutorsSupport in charge negotiation processesSupport during decision making in matters which do not proceedSupport of witnesses through pre-trial evidentiary conferencesCourt preparation including witness survival skillsLiaison with other service providers to coordinate client support servicesPost court debriefing and outcomes conferences with prosecutorsUndertake administrative tasks within the area of responsibility including participating in case and file reviews, maintaining electronic and paper based case files, and participating in performance management.Contribute to the Director of Public Prosecutions by providing support, professional advice, information, research and appropriate liaison.Assist in the development of service linkages that improve the experience of witnesses to serious crimes.Assist in the training of Crown Prosecutors.A degree of at least three years duration relevant to the professional duties to be undertaken is required, as provided by a recognised university.Current Drivers Licence.Pre-employment ChecksThe Head of State Service has determined that the person nominated for this vacancy is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer.The following checks are to be conducted:•Arson and fire setting•Violent crimes and crimes against the person•Sex-related offences•Drug and alcohol related offences•Crimes involving dishonesty•Crimes involving deception•Making false declarations•Malicious damage and destruction to property•Serious traffic offences•Crimes against public order or relating to the Administration of Law and Justice•Crimes against Executive or the Legislative Power•Crimes involving Conspiracy2.Disciplinary action in previous employment.Download the Statement of Duties and any Associated Documents Online applications are preferred, please click the blue'ApplyNow' button.
