Wiring Loom/Assembly TechnicianThe company VEHiQA (www.vehiqa.com.au) is a leading supplier and manufacturer of Vehicle-mounted Emergency Warning products to Public Safety in Australia. The company is based in a new purpose-built facility and is currently expanding its Australian Operations.
An opportunity has arisen for a Wiring Loom/Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team based in Eagle Farm, Brisbane.
The role
The Wiring Loom/Assembly Technician will work closely with the logistics team to refurbish wiring looms and assemblies for reinstallation and with the Engineering Department to produce prototype solutions to meet our customer's needs. Working in a small team of technicians, the person will ensure the ongoing supply of functional equipment for installation into vehicles by installation teams. The role is key to ensuring the quality and timeliness of the services the company provides to its clients, which are generally large Government and Corporate organizations, not private individuals.
Preferred skills The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role with demonstrated expertise in the following:
Experience in the assembly of wire harnesses and cable loomsInstallation, configuration and assembly of mechanical/electronic assembliesAbility to interpret wiring and equipment layout drawings and instructionsAbility to perform basic soldering and wire crimping to a consistent high qualityFamiliar with the construction of prototype and production wiring assembliesUse of power and manual hand toolsFamiliarity with operating in a safety-focussed environmentPersonal characteristics Ability to deliver work of a high standard, within specified time frames and under minimal supervisionGood written and verbal communication skillsAbility to contribute to a positive team environmentStrong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands effectivelyWillingness to work off site occasionally to support installations and service Proactively contribute to a positive team environmentDependable, reliable and be eager to learnDesirable attributes Familiarity with the integration of electrical/electronic modules into products/enclosuresKnowledge of automotive wiring and componentsLight metal fabrication experienceKnowledge of the product development process from prototype to productionWorking knowledge of Automotive 12V DC SystemsThis is a permanent position,.
