The role... Join us as our WHS Specialist and take a leading role in shaping a culture of safety across our manufacturing facilities, laboratories, and offices.
You'll develop, assess, and implement a comprehensive WHS management system, ensuring alignment with industry regulations and best practices.
In this collaborative role, you'll work with cross-functional teams to identify risks, craft effective strategies, and establish robust processes.
Your expertise in chemical safety and WHS standards will be pivotal in fostering a safe, compliant, and innovative work environment.
Key Responsibilities... Assessment and Compliance:Assess current WHS systems, identify gaps, and ensure alignment with regulations.Manage safety KPIs, reporting, and actions from audits.Engage suppliers and customers on safety protocols.Policy Development:Develop and implement WHS policies and procedures tailored to chemical manufacturing.Approve SOPs from a health and safety perspective.Risk Management:Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses.Develop and implement mitigation strategies.Serve as the WHS expert for the Jerra New Site Build Project.Training and Culture:Design and deliver WHS training focused on chemical safety.Foster a culture of safety and compliance.System Implementation:Lead the adoption of the Safety Champion WHS management system.Continuously monitor and improve system effectiveness.Incident Management:Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.Oversee return-to-work processes and regulatory reporting.Qualifications... Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety (highly desirable).Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE) and WHS auditing qualifications (desirable).3+ years' WHS management experience, preferably in chemical manufacturing.Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification.Strong knowledge of WHS regulations, chemical safety, and risk assessment.Industry experience in manufacturing (desirable).Proficiency in WHS software and tools.Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.Proven ability to lead change and collaborate effectively.Why work with us...
