The company has a widespread presence throughout the region, with 15 offices across Queensland.
Job Description
The WHS Senior Coordinator will have the following responsibilities:
Oversee the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the WHS Management System, ensuring it adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, Codes of Practice, and standards.
Provide expert guidance on health, safety, and wellbeing issues, analyse data to detect trends and emerging risks, and devise timely, proactive strategies.
Draft and review documentation, including executive briefs, policies, procedures, and reports, and assess proposals related to safety and wellbeing initiatives.
Collaborate with health practitioners to create and manage suitable duties programs that support employee's effective return to work.
Work with team members to design and deliver Work Health and Safety educational programs for various audiences, including executive management.
Identify new safety and wellbeing challenges and develop management strategies to address these risks.
Engage in multidisciplinary teams and consultative networks, working with internal and external stakeholders.
Lead or participate in projects focused on implementing and evaluating policies, and recommend appropriate WHS solutions for the organization.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of WHS practices within the Queensland Public Sector and other organisations, sharing insights to highlight potential risks and improvement opportunities.
Foster a healthy, safe, and equitable work environment.
Develop and implement programs to enhance employee wellbeing.
Model and promote a positive, culturally competent, inclusive, respectful, and ethical work environment.
The Successful Applicant
The successful WHS Senior Coordinator has the following responsibilities:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety or Lead Auditor Qualified (WHS Management Systems) will be highly regarded or equivalent experience.
VET and/or industry-based Work Health & Safety qualifications including Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordination.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience of the Queensland legislative and regulatory WHS frameworks of Safety, Health and Wellbeing, and Injury Management.
