As a Wholesale Energy Risk Analyst, you will be responsible for analysing and managing risks in wholesale energy markets. This role requires a keen understanding of risk management principles and their application within the energy sector. You will collaborate closely with internal teams to develop and implement effective risk management strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct risk assessments and identify potential risks in wholesale energy markets. Develop risk management strategies to mitigate identified risks. Analyse market trends and assess potential impacts on risk. Prepare detailed reports on risk analysis findings. Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand risk appetite and tolerance. Monitor risk exposures and escalate issues as necessary. Support the development of risk policies and procedures. Participate in risk committee meetings and provide input on risk matters. Collaborate with trading and finance teams to ensure risk metrics are accurately captured. Assist in the development and maintenance of risk models. Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis to assess risk exposure. Stay informed about regulatory requirements related to risk management. Assist in regulatory filings and reporting related to risk management. Provide training and support to internal teams on risk management practices. Continuously review and improve risk management processes.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field. Experience in risk management within the energy sector preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of energy markets and trading products. Proficiency in risk management tools and software.
