Ao6 Senior Finance Officer - Asset Accounting

$72.56 - $77.48 per hour + Super6 month contract with possibly extensionCBD location with WFH flexibility.The Organisation:Join a prominent state government department committed to delivering innovative solutions in finance and travel technology. As a Senior Finance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and compliance of the department.Role Overview:Project Management: Oversee the preparation of the department's annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.Asset Accounting: Manage the asset accounting function, including valuation, maintenance of the asset register, and coordination of stocktakes.Financial Reporting: Contribute to the development of financial statements in accordance with statutory requirements and Treasury guidelines.Policy and Systems: Assist in developing and maintaining financial reporting policies, procedures, and systems.Key Responsibilities:Asset Accounting: Contribute to the division's complex annual valuation process, coordinate asset stocktakes and maintain the asset register, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of asset transactions.Financial Statements Development: Assist in preparing detailed workpapers, handle end-of-month and end-of-year financial reporting processes, provide Tridata actual reporting and support the estimates process.Policy and Compliance: Contribute to the development and maintenance of financial reporting policies, procedures, guidelines, and systems.Qualifications and Experience:Proven experience working in accordance with accounting standards.Experience in transactional processing (bulk accounts, purchase orders, tax corrections, journals, and accruals).About You:As a Senior Finance Officer, you'll thrive in this role if you can demonstrate your ability to use data and leverage technology for greater efficiencies.
