The Role Our client is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join their team located in Unanderra. This role is full time Monday - Friday with the opportunity for extra overtime available to the right candidate. Duties and responsibilities in this role are as follows: Fitting work. Machining Work. Working in strip bay disassembling drive shafts, gearboxes, and all aspects of power transmission for mining, steelmaking, and paper sectors. Re-assembling such equipment after cleaning and measuring. Working with hydraulic press. Use of the Overhead Crane to move large equipment around. Use of Forklift to move large equipment around that is on pallets. When measuring, be able to work within tight tolerances = Very accurate in their workings to minimize errors. Key Competencies Minimum CERT III in Fitter + Turner / Fitter + Machinist. Forklift ticket HIGHLY DESIRABLE. Drivers Licence a MUST. NPC Check required. Pre-employment medical must be undertaken and passed. Benefits ASAP start Monday - Friday - 7.30am to 3.30pm Overtime available for the right candidate, dependent on availability Permanent opportunityto the right candidate Supportive work environment The ideal candidate should hold a minimum CERT III in Fitter + Turner / Fitter + Machinist, possess a forklift ticket, and have a valid driver's license. Previous experience in Mechanical Fitting is highly desirable, with a minimum of 1-2 years' hands-on experience preferred. The role demands precision in measurements and the ability to work within tight tolerances to minimize errors. This position requires a candidate who is not only technically proficient but also physically fit, able to work autonomously with minimal supervision, and committed to maintaining a high level of accuracy and proficiency. The successful candidate must have their own transport, as the work site is not near public transport, and occasional deliveries and installations may be required.
