The role Located at our stunning waterside head office in Frankston and reporting to the Reliability Network Planning Manager, this senior technical role will work with a team of professional engineers and data scientists to provide technical, project management and advisory support in the Potable Water Quality area.
The position will support the Reliability Planning Manager coaching and mentoring junior staff, identifying skill gaps in the team and identify training and other activities to upskill the team and wider organisation.
You will support the Reliability Planning Manager in a range of complex technical and project management and advisory activities as set out under Key Accountabilities The role will be a focus point for water quality planning and lift the activity, effectiveness and profile of water quality within Reliability Planning, Distribution Solutions and the wider organisation.
The role does not work alone with an operations focused Water Quality Team providing day-today oversight for South East Water.
Who are you?
Bachelor degree in Engineering or similar qualification and relevant work experience.
Professional Registration in Victoria required, chartered PEng preferred Minimum of 10 years' experience, with a significant component of that in water quality planning Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Potable Water Quality principles and science.

Demonstrated experience, knowledge and influencing of policy, regulations and standards that govern the environmental, safety and product quality aspects of water quality planning.
Ability to exercise independent professional judgement in recognising and solving problems relying on experience/policies/procedures; expanding, and adapting those policies and procedures if required Ability to undertake complex technical and analytical work under limited supervision and direction and provide technical mentoring and leadership to other members of the team Knowledge of process modelling and simulation tools and experience using these tools to plan and/or optimise water quality network processes (desirable, not essential) Knowledge of Asset Management Principles as they relate to reliability of pipelines and other water industry engineering assets Knowledge of risk management systems Experience in the delivery and operation chlorinators and other water quality technologies.
Construction, maintenance or operating experience or knowledge related to water industry engineering activities.
Knowledge in developing asset management plans for maintaining asset reliability and water quality.
