We are looking for our next Ranger in Charge to lead a small team covering a vast array of estates across the eastern part of the central sandstone belt of central Queensland, including a variety of Resources Reserves, State Forest, Conservation Park, and National Park tenure.
This role's focus area is the supervision and leadership of a small team of rangers undertaking operational service delivery. This includes the development and delivery of fire, pest, and asset maintenance programs. Natural and cultural resource management, with an emphasis on fire management, is an important part of the role.
The successful applicant will be required to work collaboratively with neighbours, lessees, First Nations partners, and other stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial environmental outcomes. Other duties include leading project management and reporting requirements, enforcement and compliance, visitor management, and operating and maintaining a variety of plant and equipment. This role includes field-based, technical, and administrative responsibilities.
Taroom is currently a management unit of four rangers.
