About The Role
Our SKUTOPIA Distribution Centre located in Altona, Melbourne, is almost ready to open and will leverage cutting-edge robotic technology to provide efficient automation to deliver a premium service to our ecommerce merchants and end consumers.
We are looking for an Operations Lead to support the development and eventual operation of our site. This is a green-fields opportunity to design and develop a warehousing presence, solving for specific merchant requirements and building and developing a high-performing fulfilment team.
In this role you will:
Site Ownership: Utilise your experience in fulfilment to identify requirements and design and manage the fit-out of the existing site. Team Leadership: Hire, lead and motivate a team of warehouse personnel, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently. Operational Oversight: Supervise daily warehouse activities, including receiving, picking, packing, and shipping, to maintain a high level of accuracy and productivity. Quality Control: Ensure that all products are handled, stored, and shipped in compliance with safety and quality standards. Health and Safety: Promote and enforce health and safety procedures to create a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety checks and report any issues promptly. Reporting: Provide regular reports to management on warehouse performance, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement. Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement within the warehouse and contribute ideas to enhance overall efficiency. We also think you'll need:
Experience in solution design and implementation within a warehousing environment. Proficiency in effective communication and a willingness to drive outcomes autonomously. Proven experience in warehouse supervision or a similar role within a fast-paced environment. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities. Some flexibility in working hours to accommodate changing operational needs. Problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Commitment to maintaining a safe and organised work environment.
