Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Warehouse Manager to oversee warehouse operations in the stone industry. The role involves managing stock receiving, inventory control, order fulfilment, and ensuring the safe operation of material handling equipment such as cranes and forklifts. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of warehouse management, and a commitment to safety, while promoting an inclusive and collaborative work environment.
Key Responsibilities: Warehouse Operations Management:Oversee and coordinate all activities related to stock receiving, storage, inventory control, and order fulfilment.Supervise and support warehouse staff, ensuring efficient workflows and supporting a positive work environment.Ensure stock is handled, stored, and organised efficiently and safely.Conduct regular inventory counts and audits, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.Material Handling & Equipment Management:Operate cranes, forklifts, and other equipment to move slabs within the warehouse.Ensure safe and efficient handling of materials, in compliance with industry safety standards.Manage routine maintenance and inspections of warehouse equipment to ensure it remains in optimal working condition.Receiving & Shipping:Oversee the receiving of incoming shipments, ensuring they match purchase orders and are inspected for accuracy and quality.Coordinate the preparation and dispatch of outgoing orders, working closely with logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.Ensure proper loading of slabs for transport, in accordance with safety guidelines.Inventory Management & Stock Control:Maintain accurate inventory records, track stock movements, and ensure proper documentation of all inbound and outbound stock.Manage stock replenishment based on demand forecasts and customer orders.Utilise warehouse management systems (WMS) or other software to track inventory and maintain accurate stock levels.Health, Safety & Compliance:Promote a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, particularly in relation to equipment operation and material handling.Ensure warehouse operations meet all company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements.Lead safety training and conduct regular safety audits for all warehouse staff.Customer Order Fulfillment & Coordination:Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.Address any issues related to order discrepancies, damaged goods, or delivery delays, providing solutions in a proactive manner.Maintain communication with suppliers, staff and drivers to ensure seamless operations.Team Leadership & Development:Lead, mentor, and support warehouse staff, encouraging a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.Assign and prioritise tasks to ensure efficient use of resources and timeConduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to support employee development.Qualifications & Skills: Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in warehouse management, ideally in the stone, construction, or manufacturing sectors.Crane & Forklift Certification: Valid crane and forklift licenses with demonstrated experience operating equipment safely in a warehouse or industrial environment.Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and support a diverse team.Inventory Management: Experience with inventory management systems, with the ability to manage stock levels and track materials.Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy in inventory, order fulfillment, and deliveries to minimise errors.Safety Awareness: In-depth knowledge of warehouse safety standards and best practices for equipment operation.Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve operational issues quickly, finding effective solutions.Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the stone, construction, or heavy materials industry.Familiarity with supply chain and logistics processes.Additional safety or first aid certifications are a plus.Working Conditions: This position involves working in a warehouse environment with exposure to material handling equipment and various types of stone products.The role may involve tasks requiring physical movement, including lifting, standing, and moving products safely.Occasional overtime may be required during peak seasons or to meet urgent order demands.Interested candidates should send their resume and cover letter to Adriana at [email protected]
