Women's and Children's Health Network, Paediatric Medicine, North Adelaide Classification ASO2 - $58,709 - $63,154 Part Time - Ongoing Permanent Position About the Opportunity We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Paediatric Medicine team as a Ward Clerk, where you will be responsible for:
Provide front-line ward service to the department. Direct visitors/relatives and maintain good public relations. Ensure prompt handling of enquiries regarding patient welfare by directing them to relevant nursing or medical staff. Maintain and prepare patient files/folders/noticeboards for admissions. Liaise with shift coordinator, NUM/ANUM, and ward staff regarding patient movements, admissions, discharges, and appointments. Book patient follow-up appointments in accordance with Corporate Administration Services guidelines. Utilize relevant information technology systems for ward maintenance and maintain accurate patient data on systems like HOMER and OACIS. Ensure maintenance of confidential patient Unit Records by accurate filing and checking of reports, results, name labels, and continuation sheets. Participate in the development, maintenance, and updating of administrative procedures and policies. About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
Comprehensive knowledge of office operations and procedures. Good working knowledge of medical terminology. Skilled in using Windows and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) with previous experience in administrative roles. Provide guidance to management and staff while maintaining integrity and confidentiality in sensitive matters. Convey complex issues clearly, both verbally and in writing, to diverse audiences. Handle situations involving staff and patients with sensitivity and understanding. Operate under limited direction to meet deadlines and achieve objectives amidst competing priorities. Proficient in typing using dictation equipment.
