VIV FOODS PTY LTD operates the Mediterranean restaurant 'Piato' in the Pier, Cairns waterfront.
As a Waiter at Piato, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.
Your primary responsibility will be to provide professional and attentive service while ensuring guests' needs are met promptly and courteously.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Arrange tables according to restaurant standards before service. Ensure cleanliness and proper arrangement of table settings, including cutlery, glassware, and linens. Maintain a welcoming ambiance in the dining area. Welcome guests upon arrival with a warm greeting and escort them to their tables. Present menus and beverage lists, offering recommendations if requested. Assist guests in making informed choices by providing detailed descriptions of menu items and specials. Take accurate orders from guests, ensuring to note any special requests or dietary restrictions. Communicate orders promptly to the kitchen and bar staff. Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to tables. Serve food and beverages with attention to detail and presentation standards. Open bottles and pour beverages gracefully, maintaining professionalism. Be proactive in addressing any guest concerns or requests to ensure a positive dining experience. Clear tables efficiently after guests finish their meals. Collect used dishes, cutlery, and glassware, and return them to the kitchen for cleaning. Replace tableware as needed and ensure tables are promptly reset for the next guests. Process guest payments accurately using POS systems or cash registers. Handle cash and credit card transactions securely and efficiently. Provide guests with receipts and thank them for their patronage. Offer wine recommendations and assist guests in selecting suitable wine pairings. Present and pour wines elegantly, adhering to established service protocols. Maintain knowledge of wine offerings and update wine lists as necessary. This position reports to the Restaurant Manager.
Qualifications and Skills: Cert II in Hospitality desirable. Previous experience in a similar role preferred, but not required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and customer service orientation. Knowledge of food and beverage service procedures is an advantage. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,900.00 – $70,000.00 per year
