Reporting to the Software Manager, the purpose of the Senior Software Engineer position is for an engineer with many years' experience to carry out, with a high level of independence and responsibility, various aspects of software engineering, project delivery, and their respective subsystems. This role will work closely with various members of the software engineer team and other engineering teams, to design, develop, and implement software solutions for company projects.
Where is the position located? Located in Queensland.
What will your typical day look like? Independently troubleshoot bugs and other software related tasks. Develop and troubleshoot software solutions for clients, from design and documentation to implementation and maintenance. Collaborate in a strong team environment using C# and .NET. Lead in carrying out processes to interface with third parties to develop cross-system integrations. Independently write and review memory-managed (C#, Java, etc.) languages. Complete advanced networking and related tasks and assist other team members when required. Peer review software plans, code and/or design documentation, as required. Lead in the development of architect solutions. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code. Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards. Learn new programming languages and technologies as required. Keep up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in software engineering. Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge. Promote teamwork and collaboration, build relationships with colleagues, and help to create a positive work environment. Take initiative to seek out opportunities to contribute to the success of the company and propose solutions to improve processes. Help to foster a culture of continuous learning by developing skills and sharing knowledge with colleagues. Mentor fellow and graduate software engineers through coaching and expanding system knowledge. What do we want to know about you? Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. Familiarity with software development processes and methodologies. Knowledge of programming languages such as C# and .NET. Knowledge of software development principles and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall). Understanding of data structures and algorithms. Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Knowledge of software testing and debugging techniques. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of software design patterns and best practices. Ability to optimize code for performance and scalability. Experience working with complex systems and architectures. Who are we?
