Our Care Car program gives older people an affordable, safe and age-friendly transport option to help them live independently at home.
Supported by our Community Foundation, the Care Cars are volunteer-driven to help ensure the service is affordable for clients who rely on it to get to and from medical appointments, local shops, visits with family and friends and more.
This role is a rewarding opportunity to connect with our clients while you provide a practical service that makes a difference in their lives.
The position suits volunteers who love to work in a team, be around people and have good communication skills and empathy.
We provide you with modern, safe and fully-maintained vehicles and smartphones for easy navigation and communication with our support team.
Our Care Cars operate from 8am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday and is suitable for Centrelink volunteers You will undergo training and screening before being accepted About Southern Cross Care Southern Cross Care has provided quality aged care and retirement living services to our community for more than 55 years.

Requirements All volunteers require: A current Driver Licence (C) A current National Police Certificate for the Purpose of Aged Care, or be willing to obtain one
