About the Role
As a Vocationally Registered General Practitioner, you will deliver culturally sensitive, holistic healthcare to the local Aboriginal community. This role involves providing high-quality primary care, supporting chronic disease management, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance the health and well-being of our community. Your expertise will help empower our community through comprehensive medical care, health education, and proactive support.
Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive, continuing medical care as a General Practitioner.Conduct consultations for simple and complex health conditions.Offer a range of health services, including prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation.Collaborate with specialists and allied health professionals.Make appropriate referrals to services and community health.Engage in ongoing education, health promotion, and research.Assist in training colleagues and other health professionals.Minimum Requirements: Registered to practice in Victoria as a medical practitioner with AHPRA (without limitations).Understanding of and commitment to the Aboriginal community.Experience working in a community-controlled health service.Ability to build rapport with patients and the community.Commitment to ongoing professional development and CPD requirements.Effective teamwork skills.Knowledge and commitment to occupational health & safety legislation.What We Offer: Competitive pay and conditions: $180 - $200 rate per hour.Salary packaging of $15,900 available for Part- or Full-time employees.Opportunities for additional incentives, which may include Christmas bonus days, recognition of NAIDOC day, periodic adjustments aligned with CPI increases, and the possibility of a relocation allowance when applicable.Professional development opportunities and support to help you grow in your career.Access to a free and confidential Employment Assistance Program and more.Provision of a laptop and mobile phone to support your work where applicable.Fleet cars to carry out daily tasks where applicable.To ensure a safe and supportive environment, successful applicants must undergo comprehensive reference checks and provide a National Police Check, a Working with Children Check, and evidence of COVID-19 Vaccination status.
