Air Liquide Large Industries provides our customers with industrial gas and energy solutions that are vital to their own industrial production. We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers.
How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? The main objective of the Victoria ASU Plant Engineer position is providing technical support to operational teams. This is achieved by suggesting opportunities for process improvement while maintaining high safety, reliability, and efficiency standards for the facility.
Health, Safety, Environmental and Regulatory Compliance:
Provide visible HSE leadership to site technicians and actively champion the Life Critical Safety system (LCS) Works to achieve "Zero Accidents" Support and maintain all aspects of Health, Safety, Environmental and Regulatory Compliance Operates facility in compliance with all Air Liquide policies Provide regulatory training and maintain required regulatory documentation (ISO documentation, RMP, MOC, etc) Keep plant hazard analysis current and displays thorough knowledge of possible hazards and associated safeguards. Compliance with EIS requirements. Ensure all incidents are reported and investigated and corrective actions are completed Leader in site Safe Work Permit (SWP) and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) Programs Operates plant safely and reliably:
Support the operations of 2 production units at the Bloomington ASU producing nitrogen and oxygen to ensure safe, reliable, high quality, and efficient supply of product to the customer Support the operations with engineering support ranging including MOC creation, small project management, and action item completion. Perform process troubleshooting. Identify and recommend process changes and plant projects to improve plant HSE, reliability and efficiency Own Key Operating Documents. Maintain updated red-lines at all times. Display detailed understanding of content and significance of each document Ensure GT's are understood and followed by the plant staff Ensure operating procedures are followed and updated as needed Partner with the Reliability Center to execute predictive and preventive maintenance to eliminate catastrophic failures and unplanned maintenance Partner with the Reliability Team to execute planned maintenance and unexpected events. Manages, schedules, and executes certain maintenance activities for the site. Set and maintain high housekeeping standards Complete assigned action items from audits Approve critical work permits (hot work, confined space, etc.) Manages Costs:
Assist in developing plant budget needs Develop cost and economic justification for capital projects Develop and execute capital project scope, cost, and schedule as assigned within time and budget requirements Identify and implement opportunities to reduce costs within delegated authorization Utilize national purchasing agreements and frame agreements Develop and Leads People:
Work to achieve our goal of "Zero Accidents" by taking a leadership role in safety. Assist with training new technicians Provide candid constructive input to management decisions and actively support those decisions. Insist on adherence to administrative and operational policies and procedures. Complete Personal Development System goals as defined in annual review. Interview candidates for open positions. Are you a MATCH? Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering required -- OR high school diploma/ GED required plus 8+ years of equivalent experience 2+ years of experience in an industrial production facility in the role of plant engineer or other similar plant operations role; utilities, air gas, chemical, or refinery production experience preferred Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship. Physical Qualifications:
