The Opportunity: Join our National Design team as a Consultant specialising in Visual Impact Assessment (VIA).
In this role, you will contribute to a variety of services, including architectural visualisation (photomontages) that illustrate town planning controls.
You will conduct research and analysis of statutory and non-statutory planning objectives relevant to visual assessment projects in VIC and NSW.
Your expertise will guide the integration of town planning overlays and compliance into visual solutions.
You will produce certifiably accurate materials (plans, 2D and 3D graphics), presentations, and photomontages that meet VCAT and LECNSW standards.
Your focus will be on delivering client projects and achieving established commercial targets, supporting the design team on a national level.
The salary for this role ranges from $80k - $90k inclusive of superannuation.
You will: Provide and contribute to a range of services including visual analysis, visual impact assessments and landscape visual impact assessments.
This includes completing tasks related to producing various types of visual aids photomontages etc for inclusion assessment reports, approval processes, illustrative plan production, and presentation.
Assist with and carry out site visits as required (photography, mapping, analysis of relevant planning controls and overlays for urban and rural project sites).
Continue to expand your planning knowledge of VIC and NSW planning controls and objectives and planning principles relevant to view impacts.
Contribute to the development of proposals and tenders for potential clients and projects.
Provide support to the Design Studio in servicing client requirements, as required.
Communicate design concepts using computer programs such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite to a wide audience.
Work alongside other professionals on a range of multi-disciplinary projects, working to direction or a brief, to deadlines, within budget and with a commercial focus.
Track job costs and provide regular updates to the Project Manager.
Attend client meetings and liaise with clients and fellow consultants.
About you: 1-3 years of proven experience working in a similar role.
Communicates graphically at a proficient level using both digital formats to prepare photomontages.
Competent and efficient skills in Studio Max, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino and/or other 3D modelling software and learning to interrogate GIS based-data sets.
Competent and efficient skills in relevant components of the Adobe Suite.
Brings a positive, encouraging attitude to own work and work relationships.
Seeks and shares best practice inside and outside the organisation to deliver high quality, innovative outputs.
