The Role Abervale Retirement Village, located in Grovedale, is currently seeking an enthusiastic, committed and reliable Village Support Officer on a Casual basis.
Our residents are independent retirees who have sought the company and safety of living in a community of like-minded individuals with service provided that gives them and their families the reassurance that they will be cared for if the need arises.
Reporting to the Village Manager, your duties will include: Assisting with our colourful village eventsAssisting to serve meals & beveragesAssisting with setting up and cleaning after meal serviceResponding to resident enquiriesResponding to call outsUndertaking first aidInitiating emergency services where requiredBasic admin tasksConducting welfare checks on residentsOther tasks around the village as directedShifts Casual – approximately 2-3 shifts per weekMostly overnight shifts (4:30pm – 9:00pm active, then sleepover at the village until 7am)About You Availability for weeknight afternoon/sleepoverA current Level 2 First Aid Certificate (or be willing to obtain)Strong customer service skills, with a genuine interest in working with the elderlyHigh motivation, with the ability to take initiative in stressful situationsExperience working within Aged Care, Personal Care, or Retirement communities – desirableWhat we offer: Competitive hourly rateVery friendly team with a lovely relaxing environmentFitness Passport - discounted gym membershipCareer development and growth opportunitiesSalary sacrificing, discounted health insurance, annual vaccinations, and skin checksTraining and working with a supportive and fun teamCommunity Day, Volunteer leave, and purchased leaveWhat do we do?
