Selection CriteriaSC1. Experience as a Canteen Assistant, or similar position in the food industry.SC2. Demonstrated ability to plan, organise and control the day-to-day operations of a canteen (or similar) including financial management.SC3. High level of written and verbal communication skills.SC4. Demonstrated ability to work with a range of people and collaboratively in a team situation.RoleThe Canteen Assistant's main objective will be to assist the Canteen Manager to coordinate the effective and safe operation of the school canteen, ensuring that healthy food and drink options are provided to students and staff, and that the canteen remains viable. The Canteen Manager will be responsible for directing and supervising volunteers.
ResponsibilitiesThe Canteen is open 5 days per week during school terms, with time for preparation and administration included in the weekly hours.

Organised, efficient, honest, cheerful and uses initiativeKnowledge of food preparation and related health standardsAble to control the day-to-day operations of the canteen including financeAbility to direct volunteers effectively and respectfullyExperience dealing with suppliers, ordering and exercising stock controlExperience in online ordering, email and computer systemsWho May ApplyIndividuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.
