This position reports to the CEO of School Sport Victoria and is responsible for the planning, design and delivery of the annual Victorian Teachers Games (VTG) event and the organisation and delivery of other School Sport Victoria (SSV) events.
About the Role The purpose of this role is to lead the organisation and delivery of the Victorian Teachers Games (VTG) and support various team functions, with responsibilities including:
Supporting the work of other staff to deliver events at SSV including staff in the National Programs team.Leading the organisation in the delivery of allocated School Sport Victoria (SSV) events including national sporting events.Working closely with external stakeholders, including corporate sponsors and sport organisations to ensure the delivery of event activities.Coordinating budgets and project management.This role involves some travel around Victoria and requires event and sport management expertise.Attributes The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate and be capable of the following:
Proven ability to effectively engage and build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders through effective communication and exceptional project management skills.Experience working with sport management software.The role requires work at different locations around Victoria and at irregular hours during events.Qualifications and Experience Demonstrated experience delivering sports events working with teachers, students, parents, officials, partners, and all people involved in school sport events.Demonstrated experience in event sports management including resolution of complaints and problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments.Demonstrated experience and high-level skills coordinating match officials including umpires, judges, and referees.Capability dealing with adults, parents, and students.Demonstrated high-level project management skills in a school sport context.Demonstrated commercial skills procuring commercial and non-government partners.Demonstrated experience fixturing and managing multi-day sports events.Experience working with national, state, and/or local sport organisations.A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent work experience is essential.Further Information Applicants must provide information on each of the above when addressing the key selection criteria in their application.
