Position Summary: Reporting into the Chief Business Officer, the Vice President, Corporate Communications will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing Vera's communication strategy. We are seeking an experienced Communications leader who will develop and implement comprehensive plans to effectively convey our advancements and corporate initiatives to external and internal audiences.
Responsibilities: Communications Leadership: Design a Communications organization that supports the growth of Vera; lead, develop, and grow the high-performing Communications team. Strategic Communications Planning: Develop and execute a strategic communication plan aligned with Vera Therapeutics' company objectives; ensure consistency in messaging across all platforms and channels. Brand Management: Uphold and enhance Vera Therapeutics' brand reputation through strategic storytelling and proactive reputation management. Media Relations: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key media outlets and industry influencers to secure positive coverage. Internal Communications: Develop an internal communications strategy to ensure alignment and engagement among employees. Content Development: Lead the Communications team to create compelling content, including press releases, articles, and social media posts. Investor Communications Support: Collaborate with CFO and partner agencies to provide strategic input on communication materials. Cross Functional Collaboration: Ensure alignment and integration of communication efforts across functions. Executive Communications Support: Coach senior executives on critical communications, including speechwriting and media training. Measurement and Analysis: Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies and tactics. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in a relevant discipline preferred. 15+ years of experience in corporate communications, with at least 10 years in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry. Expert presentation skills and exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Able to lead and manage a high performing team. Vera Therapeutics is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this role, the anticipated base pay range begins at $300,000. The exact base pay offered will depend on various factors, including the candidate's qualifications and experience.
