The Opportunity We are currently seeking an experienced Vessel Master who holds AMSA Master >24m with corresponding Marine Engine Driver Tickets to join our Gladstone based operations in Queensland.
Key Responsibilities Ensuring that the vessel is navigated, operated and maintained in accordance with the statutory rules and regulations. Ensure the vessel stability is managed in accordance to the approved trim/stability book. All matters affecting the safety of the crew, passengers and/or subcontractors including the security of the vessel and cargo. Implementing and motivating the crew to adhere to Company Policies and procedures onboard the vessel. Issuing orders and providing direction for all crew members. Providing training, guidance and mentoring to all crew where appropriate. Reviewing the effectiveness of the Company Vessel Safety Management System (VSMS) procedures and reporting any deficiencies or opportunities for improvement. Ensuring that all crew are qualified to serve in the position for which they have been appointed onboard the vessel and verifying the validity of crew certificates. Ensuring that adequate time and resources are assigned for all onboard tasks. Ensuring all vessel certificates, operational, and safety records are valid and suitably stored in the Vessel Teams folder before demobilising from a project. Key Requirements Gladstone based or willing to relocate. Minimum Master >24m NC and Marine Engine Driver Grade 3 (MED3). 5 years maritime industry experience. Flexibility to work adhoc hours including nightshift and weekends. Previous experience in a similar role. High Risk Licence - Forklift. Sound knowledge of the Port operational requirements applicable for the respective operating area. Detailed knowledge of AMSA and NSCV requirements. High level of computer literacy including MS suite. MSIC Card. Senior / Applied First Aid Certificate. AMSA Medical. Driver's licence. High Risk Licence – DG, RB.
