The Opportunity Reporting to the General Manager Operations, the Vessel Manager is responsible for the operation, development and success of assigned Australian-based vessels by actively working with the Senior Management and Executive teams to promote and develop client awareness and secure contracts for the Company by demonstrating a professional presence which exceeds client expectations.
This full-time role, based out of our West Perth Head Office, provides flexible working hours and will require both domestic and international travel on an ad hoc basis.
Primary Responsibilities Operational Management: Accountable for the effective and efficient daily management of the operations function in order to achieve revenue, vessel utilisation and performance targets within the Australian market by driving business development and brand management whilst ensuring client service expectations are exceeded and departmental policies and procedures are adhered to.Compliance: Ensure operational and crewing requirements achieve the highest level of compliance and meet Maritime Safety and Class requirements in addition to GO's safety, ISO and HSEQ requirements.Client Management: Focal point of contact for Client support and communication, including the development and presentation of project plans and progress reports, providing input and guidance for tenders, proposals, bids and other commercial requirements on request from Client. Act as a liaison between the Clients on ship operational requirements and vessel Masters, Operations and Crewing teams to provide support, knowledge and guidance.Strategic Planning: Implementation of operations strategic plan that includes the development of policy, processes and procedures for profitable growth of the Company, while ensuring that the highest standards of integrity, health, safety, quality and environmental stewardship are achieved.Best Practice: Foster an operational culture that promotes ethical practices and encourages individual integrity; ensure that the company's operational activities are conducted within the limits prescribed by law, comply with all relevant legislation and are based on sound business practices.Continuous Improvement: Implement improved processes and procedures to reduce costs associated with purchasing items for Company assets and initiate rollout via informing learning and stakeholder involvement.Skills, Experience and Knowledge Considerable offshore experience as a Senior Deck or Engineering Officer, with strong working knowledge of Dynamic Positioning systems.Minimum of five years shore-based experience in a similar role within an offshore marine services company.Minimum of ten years management experience with divisional or functional senior managers reporting to the position, predominantly within a Marine environment.Working knowledge and understanding of all facets of the offshore oil and gas industry and a sound understanding of project and fleet management within this environment.Ability to develop strong strategic and business plans and develop initiatives to successfully achieve the goals within these plans, with a proactive approach to problem solving.Proven experience in coordinating activities and contributing to meeting an organisation's strategic objectives.Possesses leadership, communication, influential and motivational skills and techniques.General understanding of commercial and contract administration and negotiation.Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.Self-motivated and driven, capable of prioritising competing work demands simultaneously.Strong proficiency in the Microsoft suite of packages.Working knowledge of ISO standards.How to Apply If you believe you are the ideal candidate for this exciting and rare opportunity with GO OFFSHORE, please submit a detailed cover letter and resume by clicking 'Quick Apply'.
