The OpportunityMMA Offshore has an opportunity for a Vessel Manager to join our Vessel Operation division. Reporting to the General Manager – Fleet Operations Australasia, this role is responsible for optimizing the operations and commercial performance of vessels to meet the requirements of the Company's business objectives. This is a full-time permanent position based in our Perth CBD office, Western Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
Work in collaboration with external contractors to effectively service and maintain company vessels in accordance with operational needs, including dry dockings.
Responsible for efficient management of vessel planned maintenance systems.
Liaising with Chartering desk and General Manager – Fleet Operations Australasia for vessel planning.
Documenting test reports and calibration certifications.
Appoint and manage subcontractor services for fleet asset maintenance in conjunction with General Manager – Fleet Operations Australasia.
Planning of all vessel maintenance in consultation with the external contractors.
Ensuring ISM audits are carried out in accordance with audit schedule and ensuring findings/non-conformances properly managed, well communicated, and closed within the specified time periods as required by the regulators.
Consult with DPA with regards to any Regulatory issues on board ship and in relation to any NCRs received by vessel from Regulators.
Ensure Docking Specifications are prepared in advance.
Assist General Manager – Fleet Operations Australasia in the formulation of Repairs and Maintenance Budgets and Capital Budgets, and report budget status on a monthly basis.
Coach and develop leadership capabilities on assigned assets including performance contracts and management.
Liaison with contractors and local client representatives.
Ensuring Masters and Chief Engineers are fully aware of client requirements.
Lead the implementation and ensure compliance with safety systems, practices, behaviours and develop a proactive safety culture.
Create and implement in collaboration with the Chartering desk a rolling 6-month high level maintenance plan & schedule.
Build, lead, and develop a team to deliver the annual business plan with optimal performance, generally achieving high output from the team with high morale.
Lead the implementation of and ensure compliance with all people, safety, technical, operating, and business systems, behaviours, and culture.
Qualifications and Skills:
Relevant Maritime qualifications
Essential Experience:
Relevant maritime or subsea experience in a similar role
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly MS Excel
Demonstrable analytical capabilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional planning and organisational skills
Lead auditor qualifications (Desired)
Taproot incident investigation
