About the opportunity
There is currently one (1) permanent full-time position for immediate filling.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to WA's Biosecurity Incident and Emergency Management responses. As a support officer, you will contribute to protecting Australia's environment and future sustainability by providing technical and analytical support to the biosecurity information systems manager. You will provide advice and support to end users of IEMB information management systems across all levels of the Department and training in IEMB information management systems.
Key responsibilities of the role:
Assists in the development and implementation of a range of projects in support of the Biosecurity and Incident and Emergency Management objectives. Liaises with and provides advice to internal and external stakeholders to support the delivery of project outcomes. Prepares and coordinates reports, submissions, briefings, correspondence, and advice. Undertakes and/or coordinates research, collation, analysis, and evaluation of issues, policies, practices, and/or procedures to identify relevant factors and provide recommendations for further consideration or action. Monitors progress of projects, prepares progress reports, and assists to address issues that will affect performance indicators and/or milestones. Assists in the evaluation and review of project outcomes. Researches and identifies effective risk management strategies for Incident and Emergency Management to ensure outcomes are achieved. Participates in incident and emergency management activities commensurate with capability, capacity, training, and level of experience. We are looking for individuals with:
Tertiary qualification in computer science or a related discipline or equivalent relevant experience. Experience in independently managing moderately complex information technology projects and providing assistance to projects of significant complexity. Equity and Diversity

Employment Conditions and Additional Information
DPIRD is an Emergency Management Agency and all employees may be required to work or travel during, or outside of, normal business hours to assist with incidents and emergencies.
