With a focus on innovation and sustainability, the client plays a key role in meeting the evolving energy needs of Australian communities while advancing towards a more efficient and green energy future.Job DescriptionPosition Summary:The Vegetation Management Lead is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and governance of the Vegetation Management program. This role involves close collaboration with the Operations team to ensure effective delivery of the Works Program, adherence to regulatory standards, and successful bushfire mitigation efforts. The role demands a strategic mindset, strong leadership abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of vegetation management within an energy infrastructure context.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement the Vegetation Management strategy, ensuring compliance with regulations and bushfire mitigation programs.Coordinate with Network Operations to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery of the Works Program.Monitor and adapt to changes in rules and regulations, ensuring business compliance.Handle audits, respond to stakeholder queries, and maintain quality assurance in Asset Management practices.Support Network Safety teams in regulatory interactions and contribute to submissions and updates.Mentor and support less experienced engineers, fostering a collaborative team environment.Measures of SuccessWholly accountable:Yearly completion of the Vegetation Management programProvide support to the electricity Distribution network teamEnsuring network compliance with technical regulatory obligationsUndertake independent problem solving and managing of resolutions for assigned worksCritical OutcomesEnsure Vegetation Management Program is understood by all, documented, and applied by all network teams in a clear and defined mannerOverall process supervision of risk & consequence assessmentsOverall process supervision of compliance obligationsProcess documentation creation and maintenance to ensure traceability of works undertakenMaintenance of Asset Management Framework in line with ISO55001 requirementsThe Successful ApplicantSkills and Experience:Technical Expertise: Proven experience in arboriculture with a solid understanding of vegetation management in energy infrastructure.Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of technical and economic regulations governing electrical networks and bushfire mitigation.Operational Experience: Familiarity with OH&S policies, procedures, and systems within a utility or energy context.Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and drive results effectively.Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal, negotiating, and facilitating skills, with a proven track record of stakeholder engagement and relationship-building.Mentoring Ability: Experience in mentoring and coaching less experienced team members.Qualifications:Relevant qualifications in arboriculture, environmental management, or a related field.Experience in utility, energy, or asset management roles is highly desirable.Personal Attributes:Curiosity and Learning: A proactive approach to learning and improving, with the ability to simplify complexity and test new ideas.Commitment to Diversity: An advocate for creating an inclusive workplace where diverse perspectives are valued.Result-Oriented: A focus on delivering exceptional results for customers and stakeholders with care and pride.What's on OfferCareer DevelopmentCompetitive salaryCutting-edge projects that will shape the future of energy infrastructure.
