Vacancy for Technical Analyst at National Film and Sound Archive of Australia 26 July 2023 Canberra $107,660.00 - $115,154.00 Fixed Term The National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (NFSA) is Australia's audiovisual cultural institution.
The NFSA collection includes over 4 million items including films, television and radio programs, videos, audio recordings and video games.
The collection also includes contextual materials such as costumes, scripts, props, artefacts, photographs and promotional materials.
Public programs and services ensure that the collection is available for enjoyment, learning, research and for re-use by creators.
In the digital age, the NFSA's wealth of stories will be increasingly available across the country, and on demand as set out in NFSA Strategic Direction 2022-25.
The Technical Analyst will report directly to the Senior Manager, Program Management Office (PMO) and work collaboratively within the Digital branch as part of a high functioning project delivery team.
The Digital branch designs, builds and maintains the digital infrastructure and public facing experiences that provide innovative ways to manage, maintain, analyse, discover, and engage with the NFSA's audiovisual collection.
The Technical Analyst will work alongside a team of technical specialists and managers and support multidepartmental technical requirements definition and management, systems and software design, feasibility assessment, and process improvement.
They will take on analytical and requirements coordination tasks in business-as-usual and project activities, support collaborative opportunities between the Digital branch and internal and external stakeholders, and provide documentation and solution design support to the project operations of the PMO.
Our ideal candidate will have sound systems and software design, feasibility assessment, requirements definition and management skills, and be able to provide specialist advice on enterprise, and ideally on one or more specialist systems e.g., archival, preservation, scanning, streaming or audio-visual.
The candidate will have strong technical knowledge, analytical and communications skills, as well as high attention to detail, to be able to manage and coordinate common and conflicting priorities and deliver technical analysis within deadlines.
You will be a collaborator who is results focused with the proven ability to successfully deliver technical documentation, advice and recommendations.
You will be required to work collaboratively with NFSA staff, technical specialists and creative talent.
This role requires someone who has tertiary qualifications and experience providing advice and recommendations to address business needs that are wide ranging.
