Job Description Join our Dynamic Team as a Field Technician based in Port Melbourne
About the Role:
The Field Technician is a technical role, working on a 24x7 rotating roster within the Infrastructure & Networks team. The role is responsible for the preparation, installation, and maintenance of Uniti Group, and OptiComm's FTTP network including the IP core of the network. This role will support the delivery of best-in-class services for the equipment preparation, builds, installation and maintenance of Uniti Group, OptiComm hardware and infrastructure.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Onsite attendance and restoration of service faults Onsite installation and maintenance of services at resident's premises and network infrastructure hubs On-call 24/7 rotating roster (typically 1 week per month – subject to resource availability) Augmentation of existing FTTP networks to provide additional capacity or capability Assist with the delivery of Headend construction and commissioning Help manage the restoration of major network faults, usually through direction of sub-contractors QA of construction works undertaken by sub-contractors Assist in the ongoing improvement of field work methods and processes Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to achieve expected service delivery outcomes Supporting and adhering to all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies Carry out other duties or projects as directed by management About you:

Problem Solver with strong attention to detail Excellent oral and written communication skills Self-starter who can manage priorities and their time effectively Ability to work with a range of different stakeholders both internally and externally Adaptable and able to work in a dynamic changing environment Team player able to work effectively as part of a team and shares knowledge and skills Innovative approach, seeks ways to improve on past experiences by providing creative solutions Takes initiative for ongoing personal development identifying and continually developing skills and talents Integrity – performs with honesty, transparency and trust Always presents professionally, reflecting a positive attitude and approach to their work Demonstrates flexibility when the needs of the business change and management directives change to ensure the best outcome is achieved to meet daily operational targets Certificate III or IV Telecommunications Minimum 5 years' experience in Telecommunications or relevant industry It is mandatory the employee holds and maintains as active during their employment with the company: Open Cabling License with Fibre and Structured cabling Certs Construction White Card S – License / Connect - Disconnect First Aid Cert II Driver's License Specialist knowledge of cable and satellite services would be desirable MS Office and AutoCAD Viewer literate Familiar with Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements Electrical systems DC Power fundamentals RF- FTA / SAT GPON Networks – Pit and Pipe / Fibre/ Equipment and components IP Networking Logistics principles and inventory management About us:
