About the Role Mako is currently seeking an experienced Underground Project Manager to join our team.
In this role, your responsibilities will include ensuring overall project performance, prioritising the safety and productivity of site personnel, and maximising the utilisation of equipment to achieve operational targets.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, proactive, forward-thinking, and capable of multi-tasking.
It is essential to have a strong ability to promote a culture of inspiration, innovation, and collaboration within the team.
This position will require an 8-days on, 6-days off roster and you will either Fly-in Fly-out from Perth or Drive-in Drive-out from Kalgoorlie and Esperance.
Duties and Responsibilities Develop and maintain a positive safety and quality culture consistent with the purpose, ambition, and core principles of Mako MiningComprehensive Management of all site-based mining and maintenance functionality including the day-to-day oversight of Safety, Mining & Maintenance SystemsDevelop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including but not limited to, Mako Mining Clients and representatives, employees, management, and suppliersProviding strong leadership across underground mining teamsManaging team performance, development, and behaviour to meet goalsFinancial management, ensuring alignment with budgets according to the contract and service agreement with our client, including submission of progress claims and variations as required.Lead strategic workforce planning to maintain business continuity, productivity and safety on siteSkill and Experience Minimum of 10 years Underground Mining experience.Significant experience managing and executing Mining Contracts.Strong client focus on service and delivery.Demonstrated knowledge of work, health and safety management systems and processes associated with mining operations.Extensive knowledge of practices and techniques applied in metalliferous underground mining, and Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.Sound leadership skills, including the ability to mentor, train, and influence the behaviour of others through constructive communication and positive reinforcement.Methodical approach to completing tasks, excellent organisational skills and able to work autonomously.Capacity to think laterally and work through obstacles with sound communication, both verbal and written.Strong computer skills with good knowledge of MS Office applications.Exposure to fast-paced working environments and teams.Experience in ICAM investigations or equivalent.Qualifications and Licences Underground Supervisors CertificateCurrent and valid manual driver's licenceCurrent Senior First Aid Certificate What We Offer Excellent salaryLifestyle rosterGreat company culture and working environment.Fantastic opportunity to join a small growing companyThe successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening and provide a National Police Clearance, only successful candidates will be contacted.
