About the job Underground Mine Planning SuperintendentOur client, a world class gold producer, is seeking a Underground Mine Planning Superintendent to join one of their flagship mining hubs in the heart of the Western Australian Goldfields. This role will be FIFO ex Perth on an 8:6/4:3 FIFO Perth roster or residential to the Goldfields.It's a permanent role directly with our client.Job Description:As the Underground Mine Planning Superintendent for our underground & surface mining operations, you will play a key role in the leadership of our Planning Engineering Department. You will be responsible for overseeing and optimising mine planning, ensuring the efficient and safe extraction of gold from the mining operations.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the Planning Engineering Department, providing strategic direction and guidance to achieve operational excellence.Develop and implement comprehensive mining plans, taking into account localised and industry knowledge to optimise gold recovery.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring the integration of mine plans with other operational activities, such as drilling, blasting, and ventilation.Monitor and analyse mine production data, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions.Oversee the development and implementation of training programs for the technical services team to enhance their skills and knowledge.Provide input and guidance regarding the technical services budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and resource utilisation.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field.Gold mining experience.Solid experience in underground mining, with established leadership capabilities.Strong technical knowledge of mine planning and design software, such as Deswik, VentSim, Surpac, Datamine, or Vulcan.Excellent understanding of geology, geotechnical engineering, and mining methods.A proven track record of successfully managing and optimising underground mining operations.Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Sound knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and a commitment to promoting a safe and sustainable work environment.
