This role is being advertised as both ongoing and non-ongoing, with the employment type to be determined in negotiation with the preferred candidate and the NIAA delegate.
Where a non-ongoing specified term is offered, this would be for an initial period of up to 12 months, with possibility of extension up to a maximum period of two years.
A non-ongoing offer may result in conversion to an ongoing offer of employment, however this must occur within 18 months from the opening date of this advertisement.

The Opportunity
The Housing and Infrastructure Branch is seeking APS 5 Policy Officers and APS 6 Senior Policy Officers to fill ongoing and non-ongoing roles.
The advertised positions are based in Woden, ACT and Darwin NT; however, other NIAA office locations may be considered.

National Housing Policy
Housing is a key factor in supporting socio-economic outcomes for First Nations Australians.
You will work closely with other Commonwealth Agencies, state and territory governments and with First Nations stakeholders, including housing peak bodies, to develop policy and related advice.
Northern Territory Housing Policy
This team manages NT remote housing and homelands policy for the Commonwealth, including the joint $4b National Partnership for Remote Housing Northern Territory, future NT Housing partnerships on remote housing and the funding commitment to NT homelands.
Home Ownership and Accommodation Policy
This team influences stakeholders to help develop innovative housing and accommodation approaches for First Nations Australians.
Remote Infrastructure and Digital Inclusion
This team is committed to seeing positive changes in remote First Nations communities.
