Our New Energy business unit is growing rapidly, and we're looking for skilled and motivated individuals to join our team. We're actively pursuing project opportunities in Solar, BESS, and Wind, as well as hybrid fossil fuel generation, hydrogen, and ammonia projects.
As we continue to deliver & evolve, we are looking for an experienced Head of Development to join our team.
About the role
The Head of Development role involves leading the development team across various energy development projects and guiding projects through the entire development lifecycle up to financial closure. Your expertise in the renewable energy industry will be pivotal in leading multidisciplinary teams to optimize asset development to de-risk projects and maximize value for the Group.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
Lead all project workstreams, including stakeholder engagement, approvals, health safety & environmental, land acquisition, grid connections, financial feasibility, and more. Manage development budgets, resources, and schedules to ensure efficient project delivery. Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including government entities, regulators, network operators, equity partners, advisors, and financiers. Drive risk management efforts to identify and mitigate key project risks. Support the broader team with identification, diligence, and acquisition of new opportunities. Develop and maintain relationships with CIMIC OpCos to coordinate and strategically manage projects across the group. Your skills and experience:
Degree in engineering, commerce, finance, or a related discipline. Extensive experience managing complex projects across all lifecycle phases. Proven expertise in Australia's energy sector, particularly in solar, wind, BESS, or transmission. Exceptional organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop strategic directions. Please note that relevant screening checks will be conducted as part of the recruitment process.
