Head of Finance
On behalf of our mining services client, we are excited to recruit for a pivotal Head of Finance role. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative company at the forefront of the mining machinery & earthmoving industry in a newly created leadership position.
The Company
This mining services business is a leading provider of machine positioning technology and complementary solutions, dedicated to enhancing speed, efficiency, and precision on project sites through advanced machine control systems. The medium sized enterprise is experiencing rapid growth and is seeking a finance leader to establish and optimise their financial frameworks while supporting strategic decision-making.
The Opportunity
As Head of Finance, you will partner closely with the General Manager to drive financial performance, enhance processes, and support the company's ambitious growth trajectory. This role offers the chance to step into a standalone position with a blend of strategic influence and hands-on involvement, making it ideal for a versatile and driven finance professional.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver budgets, forecasts, and insightful management reports to guide executive decisions;
Manage cash flow, monitor financial performance, and provide strategic financial guidance;
Oversee and perform month-end processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness;
Optimise the ERP system to streamline accounting processes;
Collaborate with an outsourced tax accountant to maintain regulatory compliance;
Mentor and manage a growing finance team as the business scales.
About You
We are seeking a qualified and commercially astute finance professional with:
Qualifications: CA/CPA accreditation (or equivalent);
Experience: A proven track record in small to medium-sized enterprises, ideally with experience supporting businesses experiencing growth;
Skills: Strong understanding of IT systems, excellent communication, and the ability to work autonomously;
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity within mining services or the earthmoving industry is an advantage but not essential.
