We are seeking a highly skilled, dedicated and inspiring teacher of trumpet to join our passionate Music team. This role would suit an enthusiastic teacher open to continually growing our Brass department while supporting the school's vibrant ensemble program. This is a part-time, one-year fixed term position commencing Term 1, 2025, currently over 2.5 days with the potential for growth. The successful candidate must be available on Wednesdays; other teaching days are negotiable.
About the role:2.5 days (0.5FTE) of instrumental teaching is available as a Music tutor, with the delivery of individual and small group lessons on Trumpet.Working as part of a team in teaching, planning and co-leading our Year 5, 6 and 7 BASE (Band and String Extension) Program.Experience teaching small groups in a classroom instrumental program, preparing students for AMEB exams and teaching VCE Trumpet students is desirable.Experience conducting/assisting in Concert Band and/or Jazz Band rehearsals and ability to direct a contemporary/funk/jazz-focused Brass Band ensemble is also desirable.Attendance at school concerts and recitals, excursions and Music Camp is an aspect of the role.The role reports to the Head of Department – Music and Performing Arts.Availability on a Wednesday is a requirement of this role.About you:You are passionate about education, learning, the growth and development of individual students and care about their wellbeing.
