Status: Permanent Full-Time (38 hours per week)
Salary: From $98,446 per annum + 11.5% superannuation + Tool of Trade Vehicle

The Tree Preservation and Maintenance Officer will coordinate the management and maintenance of all public street trees and assess applications for pruning or removal of private street trees in accordance with the tree preservation objectives set out in the Randwick Local Environmental Plan (RLEP) and Randwick Development Control Plan (DCP).
The role will assist with the public tree planting program to grow our urban tree canopy and provide education and advice on all tree-related matters as required.

We will trust you to bring: Appropriate tertiary qualifications in tree management or related discipline (Cert 5 in Arboriculture or equivalent) or enrolled to obtain.Minimum three (3) years operational experience in tree management or related discipline, with a sound knowledge of tree selection, planting, and maintenance.Experience in tree pruning and removal applications for private properties with a demonstrated understanding of development controls and State Environmental Planning Policies.Experience in the management of day labour and/or contractors in a tree-related field.Things you will do: Investigate maintenance requests from the public and determine an appropriate course of action as they relate to street trees.Monitor reactive maintenance requests to ensure that they are allocated to the relevant work team or contractor and completed to standard within the required timeframes.Undertake, review, and provide advice on private property tree pruning and removal applications.Engage contractors and consultants in accordance with Council's procurement policies.Assist with tree planting programs to meet council objectives and with tree-related events e.g., National Tree Day.Randwick City Council is an equal opportunity employer, and we value a diverse workforce and an inclusive culture.
