Transport Manager - Qube Forestry - Cut to Length (NSW)Qube Ports provides port solutions and logistics services with bulk and general handling facilities in over 40 Australian, New Zealand and South East Asian ports.

ABOUT THE ROLE The Transport Manager will be responsible for the scheduling of transport vehicle operators, will need to assist with training and assessment to ensure driver competence, scheduling work times and rest times of drivers, and ensuring that schedule and consignment terms conform with regulatory requirements, and coordinate maintenance of truck and trailing units.
They will be required to engage, manage and schedule sub-contractors, monitor quotas and deliveries to ensure Customer needs are met.
Part of their key performance indicators will be to ensure safe, efficient and profitable haulage is achieved, and to assist in the preparation of P&L monthly.
Specific Responsibilities Understanding Best Practices (BPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company policy.Interfacing with your allocated team regarding issues on a daily basis, ensuring that all personnel are aware of Company expectations and that they have the required tools and equipment to safely and efficiently perform their tasks.Daily Management of NSW based drivers, including recruitment, on-boarding, and training.Quota Management and scheduling of both Qube and Sub-Contractor trucks.Measure, Monitor, and Manage the key performance metrics for both NSW and MtG CTL trucks.Ensure Daily Check faults are managed and corrected in the required timeframe.Ensure vehicles are Maintained and Serviced as per the MMF document and be responsible for the scheduling and delivery of required Maintenance.Responsible for the Site RA with regards Haulage.Responsible for the NHVR route access permits.Provide PO's for the NSW group if needed.Liaising with the Operations Manager, Harvest Manager and compliance team to highlight any potential issues that could arise.Ensuring that trucks are operated safely and productively at all time.Ensuring that pre-shift meetings are carried out to all staff.Undertake the co-ordination of all heavy vehicle and driver movements in line with Company Policy, Legislative, CoR and Accreditation requirements.Monitor and ensure compliance with Company Policy and, Legislative requirements via, audits reviews and Safety Engagement with all personnel.Assist with the recruitment process of new drivers/operators.Assist in seeking new business opportunities in the Transport and Logistics sector.Conduct performance management and development of drivers/operators.Development of transportation models and solutions that are technology-driven and sustainable.Manage the compliance of all customer, quality assurance and documentation and procedural requirements.Identify all business risks and develop appropriate management strategies to minimise exposure.Responsibility of the management of the HSE plan.Qualifications and Experience 5 years of experience in a similar role.Sound knowledge and experience of the transport industry and business management.Knowledge and understanding of applicable Commonwealth/State Safety and Environmental legislation and standards.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of people.Advanced skills using Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.Ability to work autonomously using a proactive approach to task resolution.Ability to work with a small team, leading the team with a proactive approach.Ability to be flexible and adaptable to work in a demanding environment.Why QUBE?
