We are looking for a highly skilled Transport Manager to join our logistics team. In this key supply chain management role, you'll oversee road and rail logistics across Viterra's storage and handling network. You'll be responsible for driving freight efficiency, managing relationships with freight providers, and planning for future logistics needs to support both domestic and international markets. Your expertise will contribute directly to the success of our supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities Lead, develop, and manage the logistics team, fostering a high-performance culture, accountability, and collaboration to achieve business objectivesOversee the movement of freight (road and rail) within the Viterra storage and handling networkEnsure all compliance requirements are metUndertake supply and demand analysis and forward planning of freight needsFreight contract management including managing freight provider relationships; monitor and manage performance against KPIsFuel and marketing pricing analysis in relation to transport within South Australia and nationallyLead negotiations and tender processes with new providers to provide strategic value to the businessContinually review and improve road and rail arrangements within Viterra in order to identify improvement opportunitiesUndertake and ongoing support of strategic projectsAssist sites with freight efficiency improvementsWho We're Looking For We're seeking an experienced and results-driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in transport management. You'll be a proactive, solutions-focused leader, able to navigate complex logistics challenges and deliver exceptional outcomes for the business.
What We're Looking For Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar positionBusiness management or qualification in supply chain management desirableHigh level knowledge of the transport industry requiredSound knowledge of technology to support business and delivery of roleExcellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skillsAbility to work independently, be self-motivated and proactiveTake responsibility for achieving challenging personal professional goalsStrive for excellence through the use of reflective practicesAbout Viterra
