Job Description The Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant will guarantee Perth's future water needs for generations to come.
To reduce our dependence on rainfall and groundwater and support the growing population, Water Corporation has formed the Alkimos SeaWater Alliance, which includes ACCIONA Construction Australia, ACCIONA Agua and Jacobs.
The Alliance will design, construct, operate and maintain the Plant which will produce 50 billion litres of drinking water per year, with provision to expand by an additional 50 billion litres per year in the future. Construction of the Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant has recently commenced and the project is expected to be completed in 2029.
The Alliance is committed to making this project an example of how well training and upskilling can be done and has committed to aggressive targets. We are seeking a talented training professional to lead the development and implementation of blue and white collar Training and L&D programs.
Our performance in this area is viewed as critical on the project and so it follows that we are looking for a true professional.
Key accountabilities for the position: Develop a Trainee and Apprenticeship program that draws people from diverse backgrounds and sees them upskilled in opportunities with ACCIONA and our subcontractors on the project.Engage with subcontractors so that they are motivated to take part in the Training and Upskilling programs delivered on the project.Develop and implement an L&D program that improves engagement with our staff and provides them skills that will allow them to progress in their career.Identify and work with government initiatives to identify upskilling and funding opportunities.Identify and engage with RTO's and GTO's to facilitate trainee and apprenticeship program.Report and promote training and upskilling achievements.Required Skills and Competencies Significant experience facilitating traineeships and apprenticeships.Exposure to developing and implementing L&D programs to professional staff.Knowledge of current Government upskilling initiatives and funding opportunities.
