Marine Rescue Queensland (MRQ) is a marine emergency service dedicated to protecting the safety of the Queensland boating community.
Established in 2024, Marine Rescue Queensland is Queensland's first single integrated state-wide service, serving the state's coastline and waterways.
You will be primarily responsible for developing engaging, cutting-edge content while working closely with the wider MRQ team.
The Core Capability Requirements For This Role Are: Design MRQ education and training courses and programs using evidence-based adult education techniques and training best practice strategies.
Lead and manage a diverse range of education and training projects, including adult education professionals and project teams through the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of MRQ education and training courses and programs.
Liaise, consult, and negotiate across MRQ business areas and volunteer units to assess training requirements and advise on and develop the educational strategy to produce effective adult education and training courses and programs.
Provide professional strategic advice to support senior managers, consultative groups, and committees in relation to education and training trends, delivery strategies, opportunities, and issues, including impacts on existing and new MRQ education and training courses and programs.
Prepare high-level advice, reports, submissions, briefing materials, and correspondence for senior management.
Negotiate the implementation of best practice for education and training service to improve MRQ outcomes.
Role Requirements: Mandatory: While there are no mandatory requirements for this role, possession of skills and experience in an accredited tertiary qualification in adult education would be highly regarded.
Qualifications: Cert II Coxswain NC (Grade 1) equivalent or higher.
TAE40122 Cert IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent.
Current First Aid Certificate.
Short or Long range operator certificate of proficiency (SROCP or LROCP) or equivalent.
Technical/Operational/Educational Experience: Experience in Maritime Search and Rescue Organisations (national/international), or be willing to acquire formal search and rescue qualifications within six months of commencement.
Previous experience in the design, development, and delivery of high-quality adult education and training courses and programs would be highly regarded.
Other: Knowledge and/or qualifications in Disaster Management.
Ability to travel intra-state in alignment with service requirements.
