Primary Objective:
Provide a high standard of advice, assistance, and support to management and staff to ensure compliance with Northern Territory Correctional Services (NTCS) Staff Learning and Development Team in Darwin.
Perform financial and operational duties relevant to training, education, and staff development in accordance with legislative requirements and ensure the operational effectiveness of the NTCS Darwin Staff Learning and Development Centre (SLDC).
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide advice to NTCS staff on the availability of training and education resources and any changes to legislation, policies, and procedures of the NTCS.
Provide reception duties and support the Staff Learning and Development management team with accurate and timely administrative support and reports as required.
Provide Secretariat services to the NTCS Training Governance Committee.
Provide advice to NTCS staff and disseminate information regarding studies assistance, availability of training courses, and correct procedures for applying.
Update the computerized training database as directed by the RTO Quality and Compliance Manager.
Manage the timely purchasing and payment of invoices via an electronic financial management system.
Coordinate the recording of internal and external course fees, and purchase of training and education equipment, training materials, and training aids.
Selection Criteria:
Essential:
High level interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills that demonstrate effective team membership and the ability to work in a workforce development and training environment.
Proven skills in the effective use of computer-based systems, including Microsoft Office Suite, databases, and electronic payment systems.
Working knowledge of electronic records management and purchasing and procurement systems.
An ability to engage effectively with a wide range of people exercising sensitivity, empathy, and maintaining confidentiality.
Proven initiative and adaptability with a high level of probity and conduct.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Desirable:
Previous experience using learning management systems.
Knowledge of Departmental policies, procedures, and legislation pertaining to training, education, and staff development needs or the ability to acquire quickly.
