The preferred candidate will have experience in both aged care and disability, however trainers with experience in only one specialisation, i.e.
aged care or disability, are encouraged to apply.

Depending on applications the role may be split between two trainers, each training and assessing their own specialisation.
)As an Aged Care and/or Disability Trainer, you will play a key role in developing the skills and knowledge of future aged care and disability workers, ensuring they meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDeliver engaging and interactive training sessions in the classroom and in a practical training lab for students undertaking the Certificate III in Individual Support (with aged care and disability specialisations).Assess student competency through practical assessments, written assignments, and workplace observations.Develop and update training materials, lesson plans, and resources in line with the current industry standards and regulations.Provide support, guidance, and feedback to students to facilitate learning and professional growth.Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessment outcomes, and attendance.Ensure all training and assessment practices comply with relevant accreditation and regulatory bodies (e.g.
RTO standards, ASQA, etc.
).Liaise with industry stakeholders to ensure training remains current and aligned with aged care and disability sector needs.Promote a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and fosters a culture of respect and inclusion.Stay up to date with aged care and disability industry trends, best practices, and legislative changes.Maintain your personal trainer files – trainers matrix, industry currency evidence, professional development records as a trainer and assessor.QualificationsCertificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116 or equivalent).Relevant qualifications in Aged Care and/or Disability (e.g.
Certificate IV in Ageing Support, Cert IV Disability).Skills and ExperienceMinimum of 3 years' experience working in the aged care sector or disability sector.Experience in training and assessing students in a vocational education setting.Industry currency gained in the past 12 months working or volunteering in the aged care sector or disability sector (preferred).Strong understanding of aged care and/or disability principles, regulations, and industry standards.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.Proficiency in using learning management systems (LMS) and other digital teaching tools.Strong organizational and time management skills.Passionate about education and improving the quality of aged care and/or disability services.Compassionate and patient, with a genuine interest in supporting learners.Adaptable and able to tailor training to meet individual student needs.#J-18808-Ljbffr
