Kick off your career in IT with this exciting traineeship opportunity! You get to earn while you learn! A traineeship combines full-time employment with paid training and on-the-job learning with expert trainers and supportive mentors. Reporting to the Information Technology Coordinator, you'll develop a range of practical skills and experience in Information and Communications Technology (ICT). Your key responsibilities will be to assist in helpdesk requests along with maintaining and supporting Council's IT infrastructure including our server, storage, network, security and communications environments.
Working in our ICT team isn't just about being good with computers and technology. You also enjoy helping people and are a problem solver with great customer service skills. Your enthusiasm for learning and a desire to combine work with study make you the perfect candidate!
What we will offer you:

Traineeship for two (2) years with potential for ongoing employment
Obtain a nationally accredited Certificate IV in Information Technology
Above award rates! Commencing salary of $1,667.66 gross per fortnight plus superannuation (at 18 years of age or older), varying rates subject to age and experience as per Award provisions

Traineeship information and study requirements:
This traineeship will provide you with the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge in both local government and ICT whilst being supported to learn and grow in a friendly and enjoyable working environment. Across 24 months you will work full time (35-hour week) alongside experienced supervisors and colleagues, gaining hands-on industry experience and receiving 3 hours paid study time per week towards achieving a nationally recognised Certificate IV qualification.
What you will need to succeed:

A current Class P1, P2 or C Driver's Licence (desirable but not essential)
Full rights to work and study in Australia
Commitment to undertaking the formal training requirements of this role
Enthusiasm, motivation and an eagerness to learn
A desire to treat others with respect and work safely to meet Work Health and Safety requirements
