About the RolePermanent Full Time opportunity for students enrolled in, or eligible to progress to, 2nd year or 3rd year studies.Council's Environmental Health Team is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our dynamic team.The position will assist in a wide range of environmental health issues, including:
On-site sewage managementEnvironmental assessment of development applicationsPollution responseFood shop and public health programsEnvironmental programs and education initiativesThe position will work within Teams in the Environment Health Section. As a Trainee Environmental Health Officer,you will be currently undertaking a tertiary course in Environmental Health or Environmental Management andwill have completed at least the first year of your studies.
Essential CriteriaCurrently undertaking a degree in Environmental Health or Environmental ManagementDemonstrated communication skills both written and verbalComputer skills including experience with Microsoft Office ApplicationsExperience working as part of a teamDemonstrated time management skillsA current Class C Driver LicenceDesirable CriteriaPrevious experience in a relevant areaAn understanding of the relevant environmental health legislationCommencing SalaryTrainee: Salary is dependent upon course progression and previous experience. Additionally, your university fees arepaid for under Council's Educational Assistance Policy. Appointment to this position is temporary for a periodup to the completion of your degree. There may be opportunities for progression in this role.
