About the position
Commencing in January 2025, for a period of three years, we are looking for a Trainee Environmental Health Officer to join our organisation. In this role you will assist in administering Council's food safety, environment, and public health obligations under the direction of the Senior Environmental Health Officer. This includes inspections of food premises, hairdresser and skin penetration premises and onsite sewer management systems. This entry-level position provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in Council's Environmental and Planning Services Team, whilst simultaneously gaining a Certificate IV in Local Government with Regulatory Control Specialisation.

About you Higher School Certificate or equivalent.Current Drivers Licence (minimum NSW Provisional P1 Licence or equivalent).White card (general construction induction card) or willingness to obtain.Digital literacy to access information, communicate and complete activities using a computer.Demonstrated ability to work independently and/or within a team environment.Good organisation skills and attention to detail.Effective oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated customer service, collaboration and consultation abilities.Demonstrated key capabilities as defined in the Key Capabilities Table (outlined in the Position Description).We offer
Temporary full time employment for 3 years, working 35 hours per week. The opportunity to complete a Certificate IV in Local Government with Regulatory Control Specialisation (a requirement of this role). Salary is dependent on qualifications, skills, and experience. Plus 11.5% superannuation.
