With experience and further training and education, many Dental Assistants go on to become Oral Health Therapists and Dental Practice Managers.
Western NSW Local Health is currently offering traineeships for people who are interested in becoming a Dental Assistant. The traineeship means you complete your Certificate III in Dental Assisting through distance education while working full time. As a trainee, you will receive on-the-job training and support, along with some time each fortnight for your online study.
